Daily Life Talks: Anger

anger

Anger is an emotion that is often denied. Depending on who you are, you may have been denied the right to be angry. You may have denied the fact that you are angry. You even may have denied the cause of the anger. But the beauty of this emotion is that it will show you the truth if you see it for what it is.

Most of us react when we are angry. That’s where we lose our power and sometimes destroy our lives. Unfortunately, there are people who will try to get you to upset you to get you to react in this way. Don’t give them the satisfaction. Instead, remove yourself from the situation and the person or people involved and take some time to process what happened. When you get to the root causes of what upset you and you’ve calmed down, then you’re in the best place to address the person and the situation that upset you.

The key to benefiting from anger is to acknowledge and accept what it is telling you. You can’t change the cause of the anger in the past, but you may be able to do something about it currently.
